No. You can fish from the shore but be aware of where you are fishing in relation to where the measuring stations are located.

Do I have to have a live well for my fish?
No. Live well’s are not compulsory but it is recommended that you have something available if you are going to transport a fish to a measuring station. I.e.: large aerated tub or esky, at very least a damp towel or hessian cloth. Fish that are weighed in that do not swim away in good condition will not be entered into the competition.

What type of boat licence do I need?
As per you car licence, as long as you have got a legal Australian boating licence you are fine.

Will there be enough water?
The lake will always have enough water in it during December to run the Cod Classic. This is the case as the lake is used as a water storage facility to supply irrigation water downstream through the Murray River, Mulwala canal and Yarrawonga channels. The lake needs a minimum head pressure supply to do this and that is also enough to make the lake very fishable.
